Hamori Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 19, 2026

In short

Data we don't collect

Hamori is made by Nanologics. You don't need an account to use Hamori. The app has no ads, analytics, crash-reporting tools or third-party SDKs, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites. We don't operate any server that receives user data, so we don't sell, rent or share your personal information — we never have it in the first place.

Where your data is stored

Hamori stores your practice sessions (scores, durations and note-by-note results), the scores and part packs you import, ear-training progress, range history, saved metronome settings and app settings. This data is kept on your device and, when iCloud sync is on, in your own private iCloud database. Recordings are kept only on the iPhone that made them; they are never synced or uploaded. Device-specific settings such as headphone latency calibration stay on the device.

iCloud sync

When you’re signed in to iCloud, Hamori syncs by default through Apple’s CloudKit to a private database in your own iCloud account, so you can switch phones or keep practicing on another device. Apple holds this data under your iCloud account; we, the developer, cannot read it, and no server of ours receives a copy. You can turn sync off in Hamori under Settings › iCloud; your data then stays on this device only.

Sharing

Hamori doesn’t use iCloud sharing. Everything you share is a file: part packs (.partpack, containing only the score and assignments, no personal data or recordings), invite and result card images, recordings (M4A), PDF reports, MIDI and export files. You send them yourself through the share sheet (for example AirDrop, Messages or email) to whoever you choose. We never receive them.

Permissions

Hamori only asks for access when a feature needs it. Saying no won't affect anything else, and you can change your mind any time in the iPhone Settings app.

Microphone
Used to analyze the pitch you sing in real time, score exercises and check your range. All analysis happens on the device and the sound never leaves your iPhone. Recordings are saved on this iPhone only when you turn on “Save every recording” or use Recording A/B.
Notifications (optional)
Requested only if you turn on “Remind me to practice daily”, to remind you at the time you choose. Reminders are scheduled on the device, not by any server of ours.

Other details

Audio stays on the device

Pitch detection, scoring and ear-training checks run on your iPhone. They need no internet connection and never send sound anywhere.

On-device Apple Intelligence (optional)

Coach’s notes are written from templates. You can choose to have them rewritten with Apple Intelligence on supported models; this runs on the device and is off by default.

Widgets, controls and Shortcuts

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read only a small summary the app keeps on the device (for example, how many days you practiced this week). Siri and Shortcuts are handled by Apple’s system.

Imports and exports

MusicXML, MIDI and part packs you import are used only inside the app. Exported JSON, CSV, PDF, MIDI and M4A files are created on the device, and you decide where they go.

Purchases, Family Sharing and information from Apple

Hamori is a paid app. Purchases, refunds and Family Sharing are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. Apple gives developers anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as download counts), and if you've turned on “Share with App Developers” on your device, Apple may also share crash logs that don't identify you. Apple handles this information under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

In History you can delete a single session (together with its recording); in Parts you can delete or archive a score. Deleting the app removes all data from the device. To delete the copy in iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Hamori on your iPhone and delete the data; Hamori then removes its data on this device too.

Children's privacy

We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes.
