Frequently asked questions
How do I turn on iCloud sync?
If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, Hamori syncs by default. In Hamori, go to Settings › iCloud to see the status, sync now or turn it off. Changes usually reach your other devices within a few minutes, and opening the app updates right away.
Will I lose my data when I get a new iPhone?
Not with iCloud sync on. Sign in with the same Apple Account on the new iPhone and install Hamori: your sessions, scores, ear-training progress and range history come back. Recordings don’t sync, so share or save any you want to keep before you switch.
How do I send parts to my singers? Do they need to buy it too?
In Parts, choose a piece and tap Create part pack, assign sections, tempo and warm-ups, then send it by AirDrop, Messages or email. Each singer needs Hamori installed on their own iPhone; then they open the file and practice their part. Family members in the same Family Sharing group can download it at no extra cost.
Does Hamori support Family Sharing?
Yes. After you buy Hamori, everyone in your Family Sharing group can download it at no extra cost. Each person’s practice data stays in their own iCloud.
Which score files can I import?
MusicXML (.musicxml, .mxl) and MIDI (.mid). From MuseScore, use Export › MusicXML. MIDI files have no rehearsal marks or lyrics and note spelling may differ, so MusicXML is better when you have it.
The pitch looks wrong or jumps an octave. What can I do?
Find a quiet spot and hold the phone about 30–50 cm (12–20 in) from your mouth. Basses should turn on Low voice mode in Settings › Intonation. Also check that A4 matches your choir (for example 440 or 442 Hz). If it’s still off, email us your voice part, iPhone model and what you were singing.
Can I practice with headphones?
Yes. With headphones the guide tones and other parts don’t leak into the microphone, so detection is steadier. Bluetooth headphones add a little delay; calibrate it once in Settings › Routing and latency calibration and Hamori remembers it for each pair.
How do I export my data?
Tap Export in History, or go to Settings › Data and export. You can export a full JSON file or four CSV files (sessions, notes, ear_reviews, range), plus a weekly PDF report and MIDI. Your data can always be exported, even if the app stops being updated.
How do I delete my data?
Delete single sessions in History and scores in Parts. To delete everything in iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Hamori on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes the data on that device.
Do you collect my voice or any data?
No. Hamori has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it collects no data. Your voice is analyzed only on your iPhone.
